Cosmetic products sold in the European Union are governed by Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. It sets the same rules in every member state, so a properly notified product can be sold throughout the EU.
CPNP: the central EU notification
The CPNP (Cosmetic Products Notification Portal) is the European Commission's online system. Products must be notified there before they are placed on the market; the notification is made by the responsible person for the product, not by the reseller.
What resellers should check
- Ask for the product's CPNP data and the required documents
- Check that the label shows the ingredients (INCI) and the responsible person's details
- Mandatory information must also appear in the language of the country of sale
How Aerosoft helps
For our cosmetics – such as Worseg toothpastes – we provide CPNP data, certificates and English product sheets, plus photos and descriptions ready for online shops.
